To be or not to be - a member of the croydon chamber of commerce

Rang the Croydon Chamber of Commerce. The contact there said she could get me seven big employers by March as well as make available to me two networking events. £599.15 is the fee for a year. Sounds like a plan, but will have to discuss it with other people first. I think how it works is they arrange the contact/meeting, and I take it from there. But - I may as well organise the meeting as well and cut out the £500. It's not that huge a sum, I'm thinking. Anyway, will see how that goes....another alternative to explore.
